Super King came to us with a challenge to craft a unique brand identity to refresh their overall brand voice and visual language. Prior to this, the brand did not have a uniform brand identity which caused a lot of confusion in the market. So, we came up with a solution to solve this problem and also develop an identity that resonates with the current marketplace. Thus, came Wekie Education Group. The refresh exudes a contemporary air whilst also preserving Super King’s rich heritage and history. With our exercise, we infused Wekie Education Group with exuberance that allows the brand to communicate to their customers as well as keeping pace with their competitors.
After realising that her hyperactive son requires a creative learning method, Wekie’s founder, Mrs. Hou, developed a set of innovative teaching methods that changes the way educators teach and children learn. By building on their belief that all children have the same opportunity and ability to learn, we developed a visual language and a vibrant colour palette that is engaging and relatable to children and parents alike.
The brand name Wekie is a combination of the words We and Okie, a narrative that “We” - all children are okay (a.k.a “Okie”) to learn through the right teaching method. Our logo design also allowed Wekie’s creative and nurturing nature to shine through. The new design actively conveys Wekie’s brand essence and values across all communication platforms. Additionally, we utilised a font that aligns with the personality of the brand and is eye-catching to children. To generate an enjoyable experience for all parties involved, we designed a unique and distinctive visual mark to make Wekie identifiable for the public. The icon of an eyelash as the logomark symbolises the essence of positivity in educating children.
To strengthen the brand’s identity, we designed a brand mascot and several brand characters to represent the group. Super Wekie has a distinctive personality that is confident and encourages kids to learn. Designed as a superhero, Super Wekie is inspirational as he is always there to listen to the innermost voices of the voiceless and protective of the wellbeing of children. Super Wekie wholly embodies the brand personality which allows the brand to foster an emotional connection with the audience to further enhance its relatability and cognizance.
The brand refresh transformed the brand from being solely a mental arithmetic centre to a comprehensive child development organisation. This exercise gave Wekie a distinctive personality that sets them apart from other brands in the industry. With this transition, the company can now branch out and move forward with expansion plans under the Wekie umbrella brand in the future.
